Hon. Gideon Thembo Mujungu, the incumbent Member of Parliament for Busongora County South in Kasese district has been duly nominated to reclaim the seat as an independent candidate.
Hon. Mujungu who lost the NRM’s party flag to Mr. David Isimbwa Mulindwa in the party’s elections in July this year, says his independence candidature was the will of the people who yearn for his community based leadership after losing in what he called, messed up’ party primaries.

Shortly after nominations, Hon. Mujungu proceeded to Mukathi trading center in Kabugha-Bugha village in Rukooki sub-county, his home area, where he told hundreds of his supporters that he wasn’t the only NRM member contesting as an independent. Hon. Mujungu speaking 1 ………
It should be noted that Hon. Mujungu’s decision follows the ruling by the NRM’s instituted tribunal to deal with the electoral petitions that upheld Mr. Mulindwa’s victory as official party flag bearer. END
