Hon. Godfrey Atikens Katusabe, the Member of Parliament for Bukonzo County West in Kasese District, has reaffirmed commitment towards lobbying central government to tarmac the Katholhu–Bunyiswa Road and the Bwera General Hospital Road, if he is re-elected for a third term.
While addressing political rallies yesterday at Kayanja Landing Site, Katholhu, and Muhindi Villages in Nyakiyumbu Sub-county, Hon. Katusabe said he would request the government to allow the contractor working on the Kikorongo–Mpondwe Trans-Africa Highway to include the additional eight-kilometer stretch in his constituency, which he described as nearly impassable. According to experts, Parliament may need to approve a supplementary budget to meet the contractor’s demands, as the current bills of quantities do not cover the extra eight kilometers the legislator allege for construction.
