    Hon. Kabyanga calls for free Uganda-Congo cross border movements

    State Minister for National Guidance, Hon. Godfrey Kabyanga has asked their counterparts in the Democratic Republic of Congo to fulfill the free cross border movements by the citizens of the two countries as agreed.

    President Museveni of Uganda and his DRC Counterpart, Felix Tshisekedi agreed free movement of their citizens crossing the border but the former French colony has maintained Visa fees for travelers within 25 kilometers.

    Hon. Kabyanga who visited the One stop border and Export market at Mpondwe post in Mpondwe Lhubiriha town council, Kasese district said the one stop center services at the market will ease clearance of cross border travelers. Hon. Kabyanga speaking1…….

    The In-charge for Mpondwe Customs Boarder post Mr. Morris Guma called for plans for accommodation near their work place, before asking government to freeze porous border points to check the increasing cases of smuggling. Mr. Guma speaking……

    He said the border was open save for the dos and don’ts forced by disease and insecurity challenges across in the DRC. END.
