Hon. Godfrey Kabbyanga, the State Minister for National Guidance has reechoed President Museveni’s appeal against land fragmentation he says frustrates production on a large scale and fuels land conflicts.
He also said land fragmentation also frustrates efforts to produce a single crop on a large scale, as well as failing marketing efforts.
Speaking to Kasese Guide Radio in Rusese cell in Mpondwe-Lhubiriha town council on Tuesday, Hon. Kabyanga who had earlier joined the rest of his family members in a memorial service for their late mother, Mrs. Yodesi Kabyanga Nya-Gode at St. Stephens Rusese COU in Mpondwe Lhubiriha town council, says it was a bright idea to inherit family land as an single unit for a common good than subdividing it into smaller pieces.
Hon. Kabbyanga also asked the local community members of Bukonzo County West to form and consolidate groups, and make project proposals that he can lobby for from government and her development partners for improved living conditions. Hon. Kabbyanga speaking1……
Earlier, the Retired Bishop of South Rwenzori Diocese, Rt. Rev. Jackson Tembo Nzerebende had asked family heads against what he described as legacies of conflicts resulting from un disclosed number of children, wives, as well as well unclear positions about the wealth they owe before their demises. Bishop Nzerebende was also concerned about some women’s failure to know and practice their positions as mothers, wives and family teachers. END.
