Hon. Johnson Mayora the District councilor Isango Sub County has been elected and sworn in speaker for Kasese district.
Hon Mayora was elected during a hotly contested re-run after defeating former deputy speaker Hon. Nelson Masereka, the councilor representing Muhokya town council.
Hon.Mayora got 39 votes making 52.7% while his closest rival Hon.Nelson Masereka got 35votes with 47.2%, according to results declared by the Kasese Chief Magistrate, His Worship Opiyo James at Kasese Multipurpose hall.
Mayora is deputized by Hon.Jolly Masika Kateba, the District woman councilor representing Lake Katwe and Katwe Kabatoro town council after defeating Hon.Karimu Baluku the district councilor representing Rugendabara-Kikongo town council.
