The Member of Parliament for Bukonzo County East Constituency in Kasese District Hon. Harold Tony Muhindo has argued certified Fair trade companies to share export profits with farmers.

Harold said the bonuses given to exporters is derived by the contribution of local farmers that supply products to registered companies.

Presiding over a one day Farmers exhibition organized by Great lakes Organic Farmers Association held in Kisinga town council yesterday, the legislator asked companies like Agrie-evolve, Bukonzo Joint and Great lakes to give back to the community.

He advised the local community to impress traditional weaving of baskets that can be exported than adopting modern baskets made of threads and paint, which he said is dangerous for health.

    Hon. Harold two on weaving……

Mr. Joshua Bwambale Tsururu, an employee of Agrie-evolve said the company is exporting Coffee from Kasese district to America, UK and china among others. Mr. Joshua on coffee export….

The Chairperson LC1 Kisinga town, Mr. Eriya Kahulebe asked the legislator to remind Government about increasing remuneration of LC1 chairpersons. END.
