Hon. Florence Kabugho, the Kasese District Woman Member of Parliament, has reaffirmed her commitment to remind the government to compensate families of crocodile attack survivors and victims on Lake Edward in Nyakiyumbu Sub-county, Kasese District.
While addressing representatives of various community groups at Kayanzi Landing Site this afternoon, at Kayanzi Beach, Hon. Florence expressed sympathy for families who lost their loved ones and those who survived the attacks.

Survivors Mr. Sikahwa Mandela, Yasin Bwambale, Joseph Musai, and Joel Bwambale shared their stories, saying they had sold nearly everything to cover medical expenses.
They appealed to Hon. Florence not only to push for compensation but also to lobby for the provision of a water cage, construction of an offloading slab, establishment of a carpentry workshop, and financial support for SACCOs at the landing site, after commending her for initiating a tailoring centre at Kayanzi. Mr. Yonah Bwambale, the LC1 Chairperson of Kayanzi Village, and Ms. Jetres Biira, a beneficiary of the tailoring centre, praised Hon. Florence noting that the skills development centre has played a role in reducing domestic violence by economically empowering families.
Hon. Kasuchi, the Sub-county Speaker for Nyakiyumbu, appealed to the legislator to lobby for electricity extension in the area to complement the ongoing tarmac road works and enhance business development. END.
