The Kasese district Woman Member of Parliament, Hon. Florence Kabugho has pledged to make follow up on compensation possibilities to the victims of wildlife attacks in the district after the law was assented to by President Museveni.
Speaking to Kasese Guide Radio shortly after visiting the family of an 18-year-old youth who was reportedly killed by a suspected Crocodile in Katunguru village in Lake Katwe Sub County at the end of last month, the teary Hon. Florence could not believe that the late Yusufu Senyondo’s family had never got any help from Uganda Wildlife Authority.
Hon. Florence said other than the planned cages by the Authority at some particular areas at the lake sides for the safety of the local people, the legislator pledged to make a follow up about the law that awaits an instrument from the line Minister to be operationalized.
