The Kasese Municipal Member of Parliament Hon. Ferigo Kambale has revealed plans for negotiations with central Government that would see compensation by Uganda Railway Cooperation to people staying along the railway line that risk eviction.
Hon. Ferigo made the revelation over the weekend while addressing hundreds of electorates who had gathered at Railway Primary School during his mid –term accountability rally.
Ferigo, who reported that government has secured money from World Bank to revamp the Railway line from Kampala to the Democratic Republic of Congo, noted that the eviction order to the people who might have encroached on the land in question is not favorable, said the affected persons ought to be helped by Government for resettlement. He appreciated government for releasing funds that would be used to erect an electric wire along the boundaries of Queen Elizabeth National to prevent wild beasts from straying into the community.
