The former Kasese Municipal Member of Parliament, Hon. Robert Centenary has called for an audit into the approach to General Update of the National Voters’ Register exercise whose registration kits are reportedly rotating among parishes to the disadvantage of the voters.
He said rotating the kits from parish to another, was not only inconveniencing and time wasting but disgusting.
Speaking to Kasese Guide Radio at his office in Kasese yesterday, Hon. Centenary who proposes at least two months of general register update now that the kits seem not enough, asks the Electoral Commission to revise the exercise guidelines and procure more kits to the convenience of the voters. In his response, the Kasese District Registrar, Mr. Ismail Tarkih Atwizukire said the deadline for the update exercise was fixed to give time for the electoral commission to prepare in time the registers for the elections. Mr. Ismail speaking……
