It has so far been ten days and since science teachers all over the country decided to go onto strike over the failure by government to increase their salaries as promised by President Museveni last year.

However in Hoima, the Resident City Commissioner for Hoima East Division DonatoKasigazihas given the teachers on strike an ultimatum of two days to immediately report for duty or face the sack.

Speaking to the press, Kasigazi condemned the teacher’s actions and requested them to either return to the classroom or stay home for good.

He assured the teachers that the government shall pay them because that was a decision that was taken.

The headteacher Kitara Secondary School, Patrick Zahura said at least science teachers at his school had resumed teaching last week but in other schools in the district, many were continuing with the strike. END
