The Anti-Retroviral Therapy-ART Clinic at Hima Health Center three in Kasese district lacks essential diagnostic equipment despite serving over 500 active HIV clients.

CD4 count helps to establish the strength of one’s immune system and for people with HIV and the stage of infection.
Currently, the facility sends blood samples
and sputum to other facilities in Kasese town like Kilembe Mines Hospital for
testing.
Musoke also notes that sometimes the results from the samples are misplaced or
sent to wrong health facilities.
She appeals to government and development
partners help the facility to get the essential machines.
Dr. Yusuf Baseke, the Kasese District Health Officer confirmed that the
facility is grappling with the absence of essential gadgets.
He says they have engaged ministry of health to provide the equipment though they are yet to receive a response. Ends.
