Reports have indicated last evening that some families in Mahango and Rukoki sub-counties in Kasese district have registered losses after heavy windy rains destroyed property including crops, domestic animals and birds.
Mr. Domisiano Muhindo, the vice chairperson for Buthalimuli village in Mahango subcounty told this radio that other than crops, bee hives and fish pounds in the area had been destroyed by the heavy rains and floods from River Kyatsutsu.
He also said three bridges including that of Kasindi that connects Mahango and Nyakabingo sub-counties have been swept away.

Meanwhile, similar incidents have happened in Nyabibwa village of Buhaghura parish in Rukoki sub-county, including two houses that were brought sown by the rains according to Mr. Costa Bwambale, the area local council one chair. Mr. Bwambale speaking……..
The Uganda Metrological Authority had reported last week that Kasese was at high risk of heavy rains in May. END
