Mr. Robinson Kalende, the Health Inspector of Kahokya Sub-county in Kasese District, has issued a public apology for derogatory statements he made live on radio that belittled the local community.
In a telephone interview during a popular program, “Good Morning Rwenzori,” on Kasese Guide Radio on Monday, Mr. Kalende while responding to allegations of abuse of office related to the examination of food handlers in Kahokya Market, admitted to the allegations but also made remarks that offended the people of Kahokya sparked outrage among the local residents. In response, the District Health Office, through the District Human Rights Defender, Mr. Ronald Kato, summoned Mr. Robinson Kalende, the Sub-county Authorities, KahokyaHealth Centre two incharge and the Boda-Boda Chairperson to a harmonization meeting held today in the Health Board Room.
