Kasese Municipality Headcount for Primary schools commenced yesterday, Kasese Guide Radio has learnt.
The Headcount is meant to establish numbers of registered students in government-aided primary schools.
Mr. Emmy Kayiri, the Kasese Municipal Education Officer said headcounts are carried out annually to provide data which is used in allocation of capitation grants.
It also helps in addressing issues of ghost teachers, absenteeism and the dropout and repetition rates in classes.
