The Director of St. Mary’s Hospital Lacor has raised an alarm over the high number of boda boda accident victims dying from head injuries.
Dr. Martin Ogwang revealed that 80 percent of fatalities linked to motorcycle crashes involve severe trauma to the head.
The worrying statistics were disclosed during a visit by members of the National Boda-boda Union to the medical facility on Monday, as part of their first national retreat.
Dr. Ogwang expressed concern to the boda boda members and asked them to address the high number of crashes involving boda bodas by taking road safety regulations seriously, as it is one of the first measures of saving lives. Dr. Ogwang speaking….
Dr. Ogwang, a surgeon by profession, revealed that due to severe injuries to the head of most boda boda crash victims, he is always only able to save 20%, while the other 80% die. END
