A section of head teachers of the mountain based primary schools in Kasese district partly blame the academic gaps in the area to the poor state of structures in government-aided schools that risk the lives of learners and the appointing authority that allegedly do not only post lazy but hard to manage teachers to rural schools.
Expressing their concerns during a school head teachers and Directors of studies meeting of Nyakabingo subcounty held at the subcounty headquarters yesterday, Mr. Hennery Bwambale Kyondo, the head teacher for Bishop Egidio primary school like many others, said other than teaching in dilapidated structures, their schools were under staffed, some with lazy and hard to reach teachers whose indiscipline has a direct frustration on academics and the behavior of the learners as well.
Mr. Asasio Sarabuli the head teacher Kibalya primary school and Mr. his counterpart of St. Peters, Mr. Rabson Kithengera, concurred with Mr. Kyondo, adding that some learners use the bushes to ease themselves over lack of enough pit latrines that cause long queues.

The head teacher for Nyakabingo primary school, Mr. Neckson Kithengera had earlier asked government to consider giving hard to reach and live allowances to the affected teachers whose duty is costly compared to the rest of the teachers. Mr. Neckson speaking….
Mr. Charles Thembo Kahitson, the meeting convener and Nyakabingo subcounty chairperson, asks the teachers to endure the challenges, pledging to present their concerns to the district leadership. END
