The joint security forces have recovered two guns which were taken by suspected Turkana cattle rustlers who ambushed and killed Ministry of Energy geologists alongside two soldiers assigned to escort them.

The Officials were carrying out geochemical sampling in Losikilei parish, Lotisan sub-county in Moroto district when the tragedy occurred last month.

It was reported that their attackers made off with two firearms which included one PK machine gun and an SMG belonging to the UPDF.

Isaac Oware, the UPDF 3rd division spokesperson confirmed that the police in Kenya helped them to recover the weapons that were abandoned by the Turkana warriors. Oware added that they are collaborating with Kenyan police to hunt for the attackers and to have them brought to book. END
