Mr. Robert Guma, the local council three chairperson for Muhokya town council in Kasese district has asked the Muhindi government for intensified interventions that would see the dissolution of the Internally Displaced people encamped in his town council.
According to the sympathetic Mr. Guma, the disaster survivors in the camp have limited opportunities for engaging in production and also living desperately especially in the areas of health, education and risks associated with the safety of the vulnerable babies and expectant mothers.
He also said by settling the affected people permanently at a yet to be identified location as pledged, his office would have the opportunity to put the camp space to public use. Mr. Guma speaking…….
Speaking to Kasese Guide Radio yesterday, Mr. Guma who appreciated government and her development partners for aiding camp, asks the district leadership for a formal communication if the IDP camp in Muhokya was part of those announced recently for dissolution.

In a separate interview, Ms Rehema Oryema, the camp coordinator said the camp occupants were psychologically tortured due to the delaying government pledge for a permanent resettlement to the 117 households. END.
