The Kasese District Chairperson, Mr. Eliphaz Muhindi has called on the local community members to grow faster growing crops that could beat this prolonged drought and neutralize food insecurity in the district.
He said many families in Kasese district were food insecure because farmers were not mindful about planting faster growing food crops but cash crops that take long.
Speaking to Kasese Guide Radio today, Mr. Muhindi asked the rest of the district to pick a leaf from the Bukonzo County West community that has planted beans, sweet potatoes and cassava among banana plants and coffee trees for food security. Mr. Muhindi speaking….
