The Kasese Deputy Resident District Commissioner for Bukonzo County, Lt. Maate Magwara calls for positive mindset change without which is frustrating plans to deal with specific illnesses among the local residents in Kasese district.
Lt. Magwara who was closing a one day Hepatitis B sensitization meeting of stakeholders at Bwera Hospital yesterday, said the medics were faced with challenges related to belief in witchcraft that has left many victims of the diseases lean to sedimentary medication than scientific proven methods.
He told the gathering sponsored by Great Lakes Peace center that whereas Hepatitis like other diseases have existed for centuries, they kept killing the ancient generations out of ignorance.

Mr. Farouk Maate Kibaba, the center`s Executive Director, said absence of war is not always peace but that access to better health and clean water were key elements for a positive living.
Mr. Farouk said they will always work with institutions like Bwera Hospital to package messages for awareness against the spread of Hepatitis B and HIV/AIDS for the goo of the community.

He further requests government to adopt the use of the birth dose among newly born babies against hepatitis B which he says is a lasting solution against the disease in future. END.
