    Gov’t to release 800M Ugx to establish Katholhu Mini-Irrigation scheme in Kasese

    Government is to release eight hundred million shillings next week for the establishment of Katholhu Mini-Irrigation scheme in Nyakiyumbu Sub-County in Kasese district, Mr. Erifaz Muhindi, the Kasese district local council five chairperson has said.

    Mr. Muhindi who said technocrats were already in Kasese over the project, said part of the money would also be spent on sealing disaster prone areas of Mubuku River banks to minimize disasters long the river.

    Delivering his independence message in Kasese town yesterday, Mr. Muhindi said United Nations through the Ministry of Local government had funded the projects majorly to improve food security and save lives of people along river Mubuku. Mr. Muhindi speaking1……

    He later called for rebranding of Kasese district so as to redirect the minds of the local community members to issues that benefit them more after the sixty years of independence. Mr. Muhindi speaking2…..

    Mr. Muhindi had earlier commended government for the prevailing peace and security, investment in education, Health and agriculture modernization that make Uganda worth celebrating her 60th independence. END.
