Former Kasese Municipality Member of Parliament Hon. Robert Centenary has asked government to expedite plans of de-silting Nyamwamba River as the rainy season set in.
His comment follows an outcry by the residents who explained that since the rain started pondering the area, their life is at a great risk since the river banks have been eroded by the river.

It is against this background that Hon. Centenary who visited the affected stretch reminded the government of her responsibility of de-silting the river channel and construction of gabions to prevent erosion before it claims the lives of innocent souls.

Hon. Centenary who was duly nominated on Wednesday to reclaim the seat from the NRM’s candidate also requested government to resettle the displaced persons encamped at Muhokya transit camp in Muhokya Town Council. END
