All hungry families in Karamoja are yet to receive the relief food that was disbursed by the government.
On Tuesday, the Office of the Prime Minister sent relief food to avert hunger in Kaabong, Kotido, Moroto, Napak, Nabilatuk, Nakapiripirit and Amudat districts.
Reports have however indicated that in some villages in Moroto and Kotido districts, although the food was sent by government, the local leaders are distributing it to their relatives, while the rest of the families are starving. Micheal Longole, the Karamoja Regional Police yesterday said they recovered 18 bags of posho and beans that were hidden at the home of one of the LCII Chairperson for Camp Swahili in Moroto Municipality.
