The government of Uganda considers withdrawing her partnership from Kilembe mines hospital in Kasese district over repeated devastating floods and failure to get alternative land to accommodate the health facility, Hon. Ferigo, the Kasese Municipal Member of Parliament has said.
Kilembe Mines hospital has repeatedly been hit by seasonal floods with the latest in 2020, forcing the health facility relocated to former Caritas Kasese and St. Michael Kindergarten premises, both owned by the Diocese of Kasese, a former hospital partner that recently withdrew.
Hon. Ferigo who said he had asked for time to study the concerns by government, told a press conference at Jeliza hotels in Kasese Municipality that Hon. Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng had told him last month that they were considering withdrawing partnership from Kilembe Mines hospital now that the facility had failed to acquire land for relocation than keeping in her original disaster prone location.
