The Minister of lands, environment and Agricultural production in Obusinga-Bwa-Rwenzururu, Hon. Sele Masereka calls for more girl child empowerment programs by government in a bid to end challenges they face in communities such as school drop outs and child marriages among others.

He argued that although there have been efforts geared towards promoting girl child education there is still a number of challenges  attached on social system in which positions of dominance and privilege are primarily held by  men that have hampered equality.

Speaking to Kasese Guide Radio this afternoon in Kasese town, Mr. Sele said that challenges such as child marriage and defilement among others need to be fought against ahead of the district belated women’s day celebrations slated on Friday this week.

He asked parents and teachers to promote girl child education and cultural values among the learners. Mr. Sele on girl child…

He stressed need for continued support of girl child education saying it’s a life time investment for the girl child and the nation at large. END.
