In an effort to provide clean and safe water to the people of Kitabu sub-county in Kasese district, Government has allocated over Fifty Million shillings for the rehabilitation of Kitabu gravity water flow scheme this financial year.
The gravity water flow scheme is targeted to benefit about 2500 households in Kitabu sub-county.
Addressing residents at Nyamirami trading centre shortly after inspection of the project, the area Member of Parliament, Hon.Gideon Thembo Mujungu said the rehabilitation works are funded by Ministry of water under ‘Umbrella of water and sanitation’.
Mujungu noted that villages like Kitabu, Musekera, Nyamirami and Busara will get clean and safe water by December.

He added that rehabilitation of Kitabu gravity water flow scheme has been a long awaited project to meet the demands of the local community.
Hon.Mujungu called for collaborated effort to have the rehabilitation works done within four months.

Mr. Peter Ebwat, the branch Manager National Water and Sewerage cooperation Kasese who had accompanied the legislator, cautioned the public against illegal connection when the project is complete. END.
