Rt. Rev. Nason Baluku, the Bishop for South Rwenzori Diocese prays for continued collaboration between the Church and the government, adding that the former has stood firm to support government plans of financial empowerment at household levels.
In his speech during the 41st diocesan anniversary celebrations at St. Paul’s Cathedral in Kasese town yesterday, Bishop Nason who called for hard work among Christians, was convinced that with a financially empowered Christian base, the institution of family and the Church for that matter, would benefit.
The Bishop later asked Gen. Wilson Mbadi, the Minister of State for Trade, Industries and Cooperatives who was the Chief Guest, to remind the President about his pledge for a vehicle to help him monitor various projects of the Diocese. Bishop Nason speaking……..

Mbadi who asked the dioceses to popularize the formation of farmers’ groups among agriculturists, warned that marketing of some agricultural products had met challenges over individualism by some farmers who do not meet the supply demands, including quantities required by buyers. South Rwenzori Diocese was carved from Ruwenzori Diocese on 26th August, 1984 with one archdeaconry but has since developed into 14 other archdeaconries, 73 parishes that host 6000 Christians. END
