At least 56 percent of children born by mothers below 18 years in Busongora County North in Kasese district are reportedly stunted, or too short of their age.
According to recent research in the sub-counties of Maliba, Kitswamba, Bugoye and Rugendabara-Kikongo town council done by Gender, Environment and Action Uganda-GEDA, a non-governmental Organization based in Kasese, children from rural households were more likely stunted compared to urban areas.
