Medics at Kamaiba Hospital in Kasese town have referred to Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital a new born baby with “Gastroschisis”.
Gastroschisis, is a birth defect where a baby is born with their organs outside of their body due to their abdominal wall not forming completely in the womb.
Dr. Samson Karabyo, the Medical Director St. Paul’s Hospital, said the Baby was delivered at Carnalpus Private Clinic in Nyamwamba Division on Monday but later referred to Kamaiba Hospital for specialized treatment, until today, when doctors also referred the Baby to Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital.
