By Augustine Mumbere,
Mr. Eriaus Byamungu, the Kasese district chief administrative officer has urged political leaders to ably fulfill their oversight role if public monies were to meet the desired target.
Addressing different stakeholders during the commissioning of Kiburara-Kajwenje-Lhuhwahwa gravity flow water scheme and Ecosan latrines project at a function held at St. Stephen’s Lhuhwahwa Church of Uganda, Kisinga sub-county in Kasese district yesterday, Mr. Byamungu said investments by government and her development partners have been left to waste over evaluation and monitoring gaps by political leaders.
Mr. Byamungu who commended Rotary club of Santa Cruz Sunrise for funding the project, was optimistic that at once leaders own and closely monitor this investment, it will fully benefit the local community as planned.
He used the same function to call for a positive mindset that would see the local community members shift from what he called ancient perceptions but be more focused and work had for improved livelihoods.
