Four students from Kampala International University’s Ishaka campus were yesterday critically injured in a road accident along the Katwe-Kabatoro-Kasese road.
The victims have been identified as Julius Manyardi, Angelina Akello, Marvin Oyesiga, and Eric Acidri.
They were travelling in a Toyota Premio, registration UBM 473N, which was being driven by Benard Emwodu when it reportedly lost control and overturned multiple times.
According to police, the students had been returning from a sightseeing trip to Queen Elizabeth National Park, one of Uganda’s most visited tourist attractions. Rwenzori East Regional Police Spokesperson, Nelson Tumusime, said officers from Katwe-Kabatoro Division responded promptly, evacuating the injured to Mt. St. Mary’s Hospital in Kasese town for emergency treatment. Sp. Tumusime speaking…….
