The four occupants including the two survivors of the attack on a trailer in Katholhu in Nyakiyumbu subcounty along the Bwera-Kasese highway in Kasese district, have been identified.
Lt. Joe Walunsimbi, the Kasese Resident District Commissioner identified the deceased as late the Joseph Matovu, the trailer driver, and Ms Nzoghera commonly known as mama Nya Landus. He also identified the survivors as one Mr. Aslem Magezi, a seriously injured trailer turn boy and Ms Eddy Biira survived a local trader.
Addressing the Press, Lt. Walunsimbi who called for maximum vigilance, also identified the burnt trailer as a suspected Howo type, Registration number, UBN 624L that was allegedly transporting Onions from Mbatha village in Bwesumbu sub county in Kasese district to Mpondwe border post before the attack. The late PCBaguma Kafupi’s wife, Ms Kruthumu Biira said the suspected ADF operators banged severally almost all doors of her residential house before turning to the trailer that was driving along the high way near her home. Ms Kruthum speaking……..
The attack survivor who moved along with the deceased in the truck, Ms. Eddy Biira, said whereas the suspected assailants torched the trailer in whose container she sat, she was able by God’s grace to jump out and shouted for help later on seeing a military vehicle. A survivor speaking…….
Hon. Dr. Crispus Kiyonga, the Former Minister of defense called for unity, vigilance, firmness and shared information between security and the Wanainchi to avert the ADF operators he said will soon be history.

Earlier this afternoon, Mr. Levi Thembo, a teacher at Ihandiro Vocational secondary school near the Uganda-DR Congo said one of their students had been suspicious of a military single file like arrangement that scared their hostellers on Wednesday evening.
