Four suspects including a teacher have appeared before the Kasangati grade one magistrate’s court for examination malpractice.
Court presided over by the Kasangati grade one magistrate, Beatrice Kayinza heard that the suspects together with others still at large, while in Wakiso district between November 8th and 9th, 2022 were found in possession of the electronic examination paper material and information. The suspects pleaded not guilty.
Ayesiga, one of the accused told the court that his arrest came as a surprise to him since he was working as a Uganda National Examinations Board-UNEB scout in Kiruhura district. Kayinza charged the suspects with unauthorized possession of examination material or information contrary to section 25 (1) of the UNEB act and remanded them to Kasangati Prisons until February 21st, 2023 for a hearing.
The prosecution of the suspects coincided with an announcement from UNEB that they had completed marking all national exams and are scheduled to release the Primary Leaving Examinations tomorrow. END
