    Four Civil servants detained at KCPS over corruption on orders of state house

    Four Civil servants currently detained at Kasese central police station on orders of state house anti-corruption unit failed to provide sufficient accountability of Government funds and Equipment’s, Kasese guide radio has learnt.

    According to an official from State house on condition of anonymity, told Kasese guide radio last evening shortly after arrest of the suspects that Mr. Robert Bithekere the acting former town clerk for Mubuku town council and his treasurer, Mr.Huda Yusuf Ndungo failed to account for Fifty million shillings startup capital for the newly created town council.

    The Chief Finance officer, Ms. Margret Muhindo is alleged to have spent the money on source and failed to account for district Vehicles and Motorcycles among others.

    While, the District Mechanical engineer, Robert Lalobo was arrested for incompetence and poor handling of Government vehicles, including the Land Cruiser for the Deputy CAO and a Suzuki Car whose engine was allegedly stolen by yet to be identified people.

    Kasese district Secretary for Works and technical services, Hon.Robert Kisunzu asked civil servants to cooperate with state house Ant-Corruption unit which he said are demanding proper accountability of the tax payer’s money. Hon.Kisunzu on corruption…..  

    According to Kisunzu, the team is in Kasese district for five official working days carrying out investigation in all district departments. END.
