The Resident City Commissioner Fort Portal who was accused of masterminding an attack on his Deputy has been transferred to Kibaale District.
Mr. Angalia Godwin Kasigwa yesterday handed over office to the new Resident City Commissioner, Ms Hellen Catherine Kamwine, who has been Resident District Commissioner Kibaale.
At the beginning of the month, Fort Portal North Division Deputy Resident City Commissioner, Mr. Allan Bamuha told police that Angalia was behind the attack.
Mr. Bamuha says that on the night of October 29 he left his house to go to a nearby hotel to buy an item and was attacked by two plain-clothed armed men riding on a motorcycle.
Mr. Bamuha explained that he managed to get away from two unidentified men and took refuge in the house of one of the residents and called officers from Fort Portal CPS to come to his rescue.
Last week, Bamuha was also transferred to Kyenjojo District as Deputy Resident District Commissioner.
Prior to his appointment as Resident City Commissioner, Kasigwa had defected from the National Unity Platform party where he was the party’s Bunyoro Region Coordinator. END
