    Former Ugandan legislator fails to pay house rent.

    Former Member of Parliament representing Madi-Okollo County, Martin Drito has been sued by his landlady for alleged failure to pay about fifty three million shillings in rent arrears.

    According to Drito’s former landlady Adila Ali Ghazi, the former legislator after failing to pay rent from November 2019 to August 2020, has also decided to run away from the rented premises.

    The landlady who has filed her suit before the High Court Civil Division through her lawyers led by Okecha Baranyanga wants court to compel Drito to pay the money in question as well as the costs of the suit because she issued to him notices demanding for his money in vain. However, when contacted over the matter, Drito denied the allegations saying that the issues between him and his former landlady are complex, including his 64-inch television valued at 12 million shillings which was stolen by one of the four watchmen hired by the landlady to provide security at the facility.
