Former Member of Parliament for Kasese Municipality, Hon. Robert Centenary has expressed concern over the alleged absenteeism and laziness by some judicial officials whom he partly blames for the backlog of cases in the Country.
In a press statement at his country home in Kasese Municipality, Hon. Centenary sites some unnecessary adjournment and what he described as exorbitant charges on bail that keep some innocent accused persons in jail.
To Hon. Centenary, it’s another form of laziness for a judicial officer to have court of only thirty minutes just to adjourn cases, some of whose accused persons have the right to be release or bailed out.

Whereas this radio did not get any opportunity for a comment from the Justice and Constitutional Affairs’ ministry spokesperson, Hon Centenary calls for a legislation that would see the community being consulted during the appraisal of judicial officers.

He also asked members of the local community and complainants to back the court process by appearing and volunteering with the correct information. END.
