The recent thanksgiving ceremony presided over by President Museveni at Kaguta grounds in Nyakatonzi subcounty in Kasese grounds, was unnecessary, Mr. Saulo Mate, the former Kasese district Forum for Democratic Change party chairperson has said.
On Saturday last week, two sons of Kasese, Gen. Wilson Mbasu Mbadi, the state minister for trade, Industry and Cooperatives and Hon. Godfrey Baluku Kabyanga, the state minister for ICT and National Guidance, held a thanksgiving function to God in appreciation to President Museveni for his dedicated service, appointments and promotions to several people from Kasese district.
Addressing the media at Verina Gardens in Kasese Municipality today, Mr. Saulo who faulted government for reportedly failing to fully equip Bwera hospital, elevating Kasese Airfield to an international airport and the construction of the standard gage railway line among other presidential pledges, threatened to take on any NRM leader who would want to politicize the recent presidential visit he said dis not answer any of the district demands. Meanwhile, Ms Raudia Kabugho Bituhura, the FDC chairperson for Mahango, faulted the NRM party leadership for turning national into party functions and declining to recognize opposition leaders in attendance like it reportedly happened at Kaguta grounds in Nyakatonzi last week.
