Nutritionists in Uganda have raised concern over the reported lack of information about food safety and consumer rights among the public.
Mr. Bernard Bwambale, the Programs Manager CONSENT Global Consumer Centre, a non-governmental Organization operating in Uganda, allege that some people have constantly consumed foods that are spoilt right away from the processing areas.
Facilitating at a one day training of Kasese District Heads of Department held in Verina Gardens in Kasese town yesterday, Bernard, urged that the consumption of unsafe food have had a big impact in terms of health to the consumers and the wellbeing of the whole population.

The engagement was aimed at sensitizing stakeholders about the need to ensure that the community consumes safe food to avoid unnecessary illnesses.
