Traffic was paralyzed today in Kyondo sub-county in Kasese district after seven foot bridges out of eight were reportedly swept away during the devastated floods this week.
Speaking to our reporter at Kajorogho foot Bridge the only one left and now connecting three sub-counties of Kyondo, Kyalhumba and Mahango, Mr. Amos Bwambale, the Defense secretary for Kyondo sub-county like others, identified the affected foot bridges as, Kyambithi, Buyagha, Ngome Primary school and Kinyandotho among others.

The chairperson local council two Buyagha Parish, Mr. Ngunguro Bwambale warned the community against any attempt to cross into the water, but use the available Kajorogho foot bridge for their safety.
He advised families staying in steep slopes to reallocate to safer places. Mr. Ngunguro speaking….
Kasese Municipality Member of Parliament, Hon.Ferigo Kambale condoled with families that lost their houses and food crops during the territorial rains, but pledged government support.

Meanwhile, Hon.Harold Tony Muhindo, the legislator for Bukonzo County East has held a meeting with the office of the Prime Minister in Kampala to help flood victims in Kasese district.
Speaking to our reporter today, Harold who sympathized with the affected families said his meeting will soon yield positive results of assisting both families that lost people and food crops.

He asked Kasese district Local Government to prioritize the rehabilitation of bridges and roads under emergency road fund. END.
