Marine authorities in DR-Congo have impounded five boat engines and one fishing boat from Ugandan fishermen operating on Lake Edward in Kasese district.
Rwenzori East Region Police spokesperson SP. Nelson Tumushiime confirmed the information saying the equipment’s were seized along the Kazinga channel this morning.
He said the Police Marine unit in Katwe-Kabatooro town council have started investigations about the gear’s allegedly confiscated, later calling for collaborated effort between security and fishermen.
