Police in Kasese has identified the five people critically admitted at Mt. St. Marys Hospital after a Kasese-Kampala bound bus belonging to Pokopoko Bus Company got involved in a road accident near Rwimi river valley this morning in Rugendabara-Kikongo town council, in Kasese District.
The community Liaisons Officer for Rwenzori East Region, SP.Luke Mbusa identified the victims as Ms. Sofia Masika from Mpondwe Lhubiriha town council, Ms. Bukawa Masika a Congolese national, Ms. Safika Biira from Bwera, Mr. Sulaiti Kamanyi resident of Kinyamaseke town council and Jonani Bwambale from Kidodo among the twelve injured victims. SP. Luke Mbusa, cautioned the business community against travelling at night to avoid such unplanned occurrence’s along high ways.
Mr. Sulaiti Kamanyi, a senior herbalist from Kinyamaseke town council told our reporter at his hospital bed that the bus registration number UBP 415 C fell after suspected oils had spilled along the road, making it slippery and hard for the bus to break. Mr. Sulaiti speaking….
