Former FDC chairperson for Central Division in Kasese has poked holes in the recent statements by Hon. Jackson Mbaju Kathika, the former Busongora County South Member of Parliament who said by voting in Mr. Earnest Kasoke of NUP as the district chairperson, the greater Muhokya people would have solved their fifty yearlong challenges.
Hon. Kathika who was addressing NUP members during his NUP gathering that announced Mr. Kasoke as a sole candidate for the Kasese district local council five seat in Busara village in Muhokya subcounty, was quoted to have said the greater Muhokya would have a chance to develop now that they will have voted into office their own come 2026 general elections. According to Mr. Kigutiha who is also the local council one chairperson for Basecamp lower, Hon. Kathika’s statements were suspicious to promote what he called regionism that has caused disunity among Kasese people and frustrated development in the district he thinks must not be subdivided into smaller administrative units as it had been pushed for by the Kathika group. Mr. Kigutiha speaking……….
On October 26, 2010, the members of the district council overwhelmingly approved a motion moved by then district chairman, the Rev Can. Julius Kithaghenda to subdivide Kasese to create Bwera, Kasese, Hima and Katwe districts to improve, security and service delivery through effective monitoring and supervision among others. END
