There was reported drama like scenario following the arrest of Mr. Aloysius Kighema over what police described as irresponsible and unlawful actions of the FDC candidate for the Busongora South Parliamentary by-elections.
According to our reporter, Mr. Kighema was reportedly arrested for kicking a ballot box at Katunguru primary school polling station to express his anger over the Presiding officer`s refusal to allow the candidate`s agents to sit near the EC official for close monitoring of the entered data.
It is against Mr. Kighema`s alleged actions that security pounced, arrested and later detained him at a force`s cell in Kasese Police Division. Mr. Kighema speaking………
Shortly after Mr. Kighema`s alleged arrest, a local journalist of South Rwenzori Messiah radio in Kasese, Mr. Alex Baluku was reportedly manhandled by a security personnel who forced him to delete all his recordings.
According to National FDC chairperson, Mr. Jack Sabiti had earlier alleged that security personnel along the lake side had been allowed for multiple voting, a move he described as un fair. Mr. Sabiti speaking….
