By Augustine Mumbere,
Forum for Democratic Change party in Kasese has halted their demonstration planned against the Kasese District local government’s move to have council sittings in hotels over the poor state of the Kasese multi-purpose hall, a district owned property.
Earlier this month, Mr. Ronald Kabuku, the party’s chairperson for Kasese proposed that instead of spending monies on hiring hotels for council sitting, they fund the facelift of the Kasese multipurpose hall or else, he mobilizes the masses for a peaceful demonstration.
Addressing the media at the district party offices in Kasese town, Mr. Kabuku said after confirming that council sitting tomorrow would be hosted by the Kasese Youth Polytechnic, a public institution based in Kasese Municipality, the demonstration had been halted.
