The Agriculture Value Chain Development project coordinator for Western Regional, Mr. Fred Sejakambwe has called for focus aimed at quality and quantity improvement of rice and maize to attract international demand.
Mr. Sejakamwe also asked farmers against the limited focus on subsistence agriculture that does not answer the challenges of savings and re-investment for the future.
Agriculture value chain development project is a government project from the Ministry of agriculture and Fisheries funded by the African Development bank aiming at training over sixty village agents in six selected sub counties for improved maize & rice production.
At the opening of a one day training of Village agents held at Kasese Multipurpose Hall yesterday, Mr. Sekajambwe emphasized that value chain development can only be accelerated by commercialized agriculture to increase quality and quantity production of rice and maize in Kasese Mr. Sejakambwe speaking…….
