Kasese municipality has trained 26 people on organic farming practice to boost the practice, Mr. Asanairi Bukanywa, the municipal agricultural extension officer has said.
Organic farming is a system of growing crops and raising livestock without synthetic pesticides and fertilizers; relying instead on natural methods to build soil fertility and promote biodiversity.
Speaking to our reporter at his office in Kasese town, Mr. Bukanywa noted that the municipality leadership through the agricultural department, said the 26 farmers from the three divisions, were to train other farmers to promote the practice. Mr. Bukanywa speakingβ¦.
He later urged the public to embrace organic farming which he said was less harmful to life and the soils. END
