Farmers in the productive Ward of Kihara in Kasese Municipality have called for timely distribution of seedlings by NAADS secretariat for improved crop production in the area.

Mr. Wilson Ntama, the Kihara farmer` association chairperson said delays by Naads secretariat in seedling distribution had remained a challenge, including this rainy season where no report to the effect has been given to the local farmers in the area.

He calls for the intervention of the Kasese Resident District Commissioner for seedlings to the poor peasants whose gardening activities are always backed each season by the government.  Hon. Ntama on seedlings…..

Mr. Asanairi Bukanywa, the Kasese Municipal Agricultural Officer however said the delays could have partly been caused by the shift of seedlings, domestic animals and birds distribution, as well as government funded entrepreneurship to the newly established Parish Development Model strategy that will this time deal with the benefiting groups in the country. Mr. Bukanywa speaking……….

He urged the farmers to form groups and apply for money through the revised government systems covered under parish development model. END.
