Farmers in Kasese District have been urged to adopt terracing methods to avoid increased incidents of landslides and soil erosion.
Mr. Johnson Mwesigye Sabuni, the Kasese district senior agricultural officer suggested terracing to be mandatory among all farmers and closely monitored by the area local council one authorities in order to fight against soil erosion.
Addressing farmers and stakeholders yesterday in Mubuku two irrigation scheme Nyamwamba division, Kasese municipality during the official hand over of established horticulture structures, Greenhouse and Nursery beds erected by the ministry of Agriculture through National Agriculture Research Organization- NARO, the agriculturalist noted that once the practice is embraced it would guarantee food production.
